Meager Beginnings

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin […]” Zechariah 4:10a

It’s easy to wish away the struggle.  It’s easy to wish that you were further in your career, making more money, allotted more days off.  It’s easy to wish you were further along in your marriage, rocking a bigger diamond, living in a larger house or taking more vacations.  I’ve done it plenty of times, but the truth is, that every step, every challenge, every struggle is the strengthening of your mental muscles.  It makes you truly appreciate the greater.  Plus, isn’t there some pleasure in the grind? πŸ™‚  I know that when all the chips are down, there are two whom I can always count on, my God and my husband.  Working together to build and shape our life is part of the fun.  So, enjoy the lower level job that pays crap and requires you eat turkey sandwiches and spaghetti more days than you’d like.  Relax in your cozy home.  Regardless of the size, it’s your space… together.  As Dave Ramsey says, “Live like nobody else today, so you can live like nobody else tomorrow. ”  Contentment brings joy and peace. πŸ™‚

Always Striving,
