If you know me at all, you know I do not like cooking. Don’t get me wrong, I CAN cook. Laura was not about to let any of her children out the house without knowing how to cook, I just don’t enjoy it.
When I was a child my mother always made sure we had wonderful home cooked meals. My mom can throw down! She made our lunches and put little notes in them as well. I always thought that as I got older I would enjoy cooking. Negative. When that didn’t happen I thought for sure I’ll really get into it once I get married. Mmmmn FAIL. lol Surely, surely I will get the hang of this thing once I have kids. Well… I can certainly say I’m better, but I ain’t good. 🙁
I’ve come to the realization that I may never really enjoy cooking, but I will enjoy the happiness it brings to my husband and my children. I will enjoy knowing that they are healthy and satisfied because of the meal I created. So, I’m taking a new approach. So many people I know are breaking out the crock pot and making delicious meals. I’ve been meaning to try it myself, but excuses excuses excuses. lol The final straw was the mouth watering pulled chicken that one of my girlfriend’s made for us after the baby was born. It was so good I had to know how she made it. “CROCK POT,” she said.
So, yesterday we went grocery shopping and I made sure to get some things for the crock pot meals my friend sent me and a couple I found on my own. 🙂 Today I am embarking on a journey, a crock pot journey. First up, “Simple Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Wings” from The Slow Roasted Italian. I’m very excited! I’ll let you know how it turns out!
